Concrete Screed with Vial Level

Concrete screeds with a built-in vial level combine a straightedge screeding bar with an integrated spirit level bubble, allowing the operator to confirm the screed is set at the correct slope or level during the pour without requiring a separate level tool. When to use a screed with a vial level
A built-in vial level is particularly useful when screeding to a specified fall (slope) for drainage — for example, on patio slabs, shower bases, driveways and around pool surrounds where water must drain away from a structure. The spirit level vial allows the operator to quickly check the screed angle without stopping to reach for a separate level. Most screeds with vial levels are manual straightedge designs used with hand handles, and are available in a range of lengths to suit different pour widths. Key specs to compare: screed length, aluminium alloy profile (box section or H-section for rigidity), handle type and vial accuracy. Longer screeds may require two operators for effective use without excessive deflection.
