Choosing the right electric concrete vibrator
Electric concrete vibrators consist of a motor unit (drive) and a flexible shaft with a poker (head) attached. Key specs to compare: poker diameter (measured in mm — smaller diameter for confined areas and thinner sections, larger diameter for faster consolidation of larger pours), motor power (watts or amps), shaft length and flexibility, and vibration frequency (VPM — vibrations per minute). Common poker diameters range from 25mm to 65mm. Insert the poker vertically into the concrete at regular spacing (typically 1.5x the poker's radius of action) and withdraw slowly to avoid leaving voids. Available in single-phase 240V configurations for standard site use.
