Choosing the right backpack concrete vibrator
Backpack vibrators are designed for sustained high-output use on larger pours where a corded electric or cordless unit would be insufficient. Key specs to compare: engine displacement (cc) and power output, flexible shaft length (longer shafts allow reach across wide pours), poker diameter (matched to the size of the pour and reinforcement spacing), and harness comfort for extended wear. The petrol engine runs continuously and the operator controls poker insertion independently. As with all concrete vibrators, insert the poker at regular intervals (typically 1.5x the radius of action) and withdraw slowly. Backpack vibrators are heavier than electric or cordless units — operator fatigue should be considered for very long pours.
