Cut-off saws vs angle grinders
While an angle grinder can handle light cutting, a dedicated cut-off saw provides a more stable, controlled cut on harder materials — particularly for straight cuts through thick concrete, pavers, masonry block and metal pipe. Cut-off saws accept larger diameter blades (typically 300–355mm) and are designed for higher-volume, repetitive cutting tasks on site. Pair with the appropriate diamond blade for concrete and masonry, or an abrasive disc for metal cutting.
