When do you need a 9-metre concrete vibrator?
Standard concrete vibrator shaft lengths are typically 2–5 metres, which are sufficient for most residential and light commercial applications. For deep columns, bridge piers, retaining walls, caissons and other tall or deep concrete elements, a 9-metre shaft is required to ensure the poker reaches the bottom of the pour and that all lifts are properly consolidated. Key specs to compare: shaft length, shaft flexibility (important for handling and storage), poker diameter, and drive unit type (electric or petrol). Ensure the drive unit is rated for the extended shaft length, as longer shafts impose greater load on the motor. For very deep pours, concrete should be placed and vibrated in lifts to ensure proper consolidation throughout the full depth.
