STIHL RMA 453 PV Battery Lawn Mower is a self-propelled cordless mower with a 51 cm cutting width and compatible STIHL ALLPRO / AP batteries. Vario wheel drive lets you match the mowing pace to your walking speed and lawn conditions, while two battery slots with sequential discharge help you keep mowing for longer. Four Mowing Options

• Catching: Collect clippings in the 55-litre rigid polymer grass catcher with fill-level indicator.
• Mulching: Use the integrated flip-switch mulch flap to switch to mulching.
• Rear discharge: Discharge clippings behind the mower.
• Side discharge: Discharge clippings to the side.

Drive and Mowing Controls

• Vario wheel drive: Adjust the self-propelled speed continuously from 0 to 4.6 km/h using the handlebar control lever.
• Digital HMI control panel: View battery levels, speed settings and fault indicators. Select Eco, Standard or Auto-Boost power modes and adjust settings from the handlebar.
• Central cutting-height adjustment: Choose from seven settings between 20 mm and 100 mm using one central adjustment. The scale shows your selected height.
• Smooth-running wheels: Durable wheels provide traction and directional stability for easier steering around the lawn.

Power and Battery Efficiency

• Two battery slots with sequential discharge: With two compatible charged batteries fitted, the mower uses one battery first, then automatically switches to the second when the first is depleted. Keep mowing without stopping to swap batteries manually.
• Consistent power delivery: Intelligent electronics help maintain consistently high power as the battery discharges.
• POWER BOOST: When both the mower and fitted battery support POWER BOOST, their electronics communicate to deliver the maximum available power for the job. Under intensive use, power may be temporarily adjusted to help protect battery life.
• Eco mode: Automatically adjusts motor speed to the power needed, helping reduce energy use and extend the area covered per charge.
• Flow-optimised blades: Cut with reduced air resistance to make efficient use of battery energy.

Comfort, Collection and Storage

• Mono-comfort handlebar: Adjust the height without tools for a comfortable mowing position. Its single-sided mounting makes the grass catcher easier to remove.
• Foldable handlebar: Fold down for more compact storage and transport.
• Folding grass collection box: Open the 55-litre box for easy emptying. A fill-level indicator shows when it needs emptying, while airflow helps pack clippings efficiently. Side slats direct exhaust air towards the ground to reduce stirred-up dirt.
• Balanced carry handle: Positioned over the centre of gravity to make lifting easier and reduce tilting.
• Lightweight polymer housing: Robust, UV-resistant and petrol-resistant housing helps protect the motor while keeping weight down.
• IPX4 splash protection: Protection against splashing water from all directions. Follow the operating manual's instructions for wet-weather use, cleaning and storage; splash protection does not mean waterproof.

Battery Compatibility and Recommended Batteries

The cordless system is STIHL ALLPRO / AP. ALLPRO and legacy AP are distinct, compatible battery systems.

Choose a STIHL AP 300 S or the newer STIHL ALLPRO AP 300.0 P to run the mower with unrestricted power. These are separate battery models, not alternative names for the same battery.

Battery runtime depends on the batteries used, the selected settings and mowing conditions. Batteries and a suitable charger are sold separately.
