STIHL FSA 400 Battery Clearing Saw (FA09 200 0014) is a bike-handle cordless clearing saw for tough grass, scrub and demanding grounds maintenance. STIHL's 2026 Australian catalogue lists this part number with a 2.5kW power rating, a 520mm line-cutting circle and a weight of 7.0kg excluding battery, cutting tool and guard. The adjustable bike handle helps you cover larger areas with a comfortable sweeping mowing action. Skin only: battery and charger are sold separately.

Battery Options

Cordless system: STIHL ALLPRO / AP. View the STIHL ALLPRO AP 300.0 P battery (EA13 400 6523) as a newer battery option. Battery and compatible charger are sold separately. Available power depends on the battery and operating conditions.

The previously recommended legacy AP 500 S is no longer sold by Betontools. Legacy AP and newer ALLPRO batteries are distinct models; do not apply legacy runtimes to ALLPRO batteries. AP 200 and AP 300 S are remaining-stock lines and will not be available once sold out.

Cutting Attachments and Supplied Equipment

The previous listing specified an AutoCut 46-2 mowing head and ADVANCE PLUS universal harness. STIHL's current Australian online description instead lists a BrushCut brush knife as standard. The exact supplied cutting attachment for FA09 200 0014 needs confirmation before purchase; do not assume the previous AutoCut configuration is included. Battery and charger are not included.

The FSA 400 online information lists three selectable speed levels, automatic RPM adjustment, an easy-clean air filter, a 28mm aluminium shaft, stainless steel filter and IPX4 splash protection. Follow the instruction manual for permitted operating conditions and approved attachment combinations.

Optional Metal Grass Blades and Brush Knife

The previously supplied STIHL catalogue chart lists these 20mm-bore tools for the FSA 400 group. Confirm approval for your exact machine, guard and mounting hardware before fitting. Accessory links are not a statement of included equipment.

Do not substitute similarly named 25.4mm-bore blades used on smaller brushcutters. Use only the complete approved cutting-tool combination in your FSA 400 instruction manual, with the specified guard, mounting hardware and harness. Remove the battery before changing attachments.

Fitting Hardware and Other Cutting Tools

Match mounting parts and guard to the chosen blade. Fitting kit 4001 007 4400 is not confirmed for this machine and is not recommended as a universal solution. Ask Betontools to identify the correct parts for your machine and attachment.

STIHL's FSA 400 information lists GrassCut, BrushCut, ShredCut and WoodCut tool families, plus AutoCut 46-2, TrimCut 42-2, DuroCut 40-4 and PolyCut 48-2 mowing heads. Each needs its own approved mounting and guard combination. A grass-blade setup does not establish approval for a shredder or circular saw blade.

Previous-Version Specifications and Runtime Reference

The previous listing recorded 2.6kW power consumption, 2kW output, 7.1kg without battery, 179cm length without cutting tool, 83dB(A) sound pressure and 96dB(A) sound power. It also recorded vibration of 2.4m/s² left and 1.6 / 1.8m/s² right without identifying the attachment for each right-hand value. These are retained as previous-version information, not confirmed specifications for FA09 200 0014.

The earlier FSA 400 information lists automatic speed adjustment to 6,900rpm with BrushCut or PolyCut and 5,000rpm with AutoCut. Exact attachment-dependent figures for the updated part number should be checked against its instruction manual.

Legacy Battery Runtime Guide

These figures are retained from the previous listing for existing battery owners. They are not verified runtimes for the updated FA09 200 0014, an ALLPRO runtime guide or a stock list.

  • AP 300 S: line head 12–20 minutes; plastic-blade mowing head 16–29 minutes; approved metal blade 12–20 minutes.
  • AP 500 S: line head 15–25 minutes; plastic-blade mowing head 20–40 minutes; approved metal blade 15–25 minutes.

Actual runtime depends on the machine version, speed setting, attachment, vegetation and battery condition. Metal-blade figures apply only with an approved cutting-tool and guard combination.
