Poker heads (vibrator heads) are the primary wear component — the eccentric weight and bearing inside the poker are subject to high-frequency vibration and wear over time, particularly in abrasive concrete mixes. Flexible drive shafts transmit power from the motor to the poker and can wear, kink or fail with heavy use, particularly if bent sharply or run without a poker attached. Shaft couplings and connectors join the drive shaft to the motor unit and poker, and should be inspected regularly for wear and secure fit.
