Choosing Your Setup

Choose a compatible STIHL BT 131 drilling attachment to suit the hole size and job. Match the auger bit and battery to the machine's operating limits, and follow the BTA 140 operating instructions for each attachment.

Optional Shaft Extension

STIHL 450 mm extension shaft (4311 680 2350) adds reach for deeper holes. Fit and use extensions according to the machine's operating instructions.

Battery Compatibility and Recommended Batteries

The cordless system is STIHL ALLPRO / AP. ALLPRO and legacy AP are distinct, compatible battery systems.

The recommended 36V batteries for the BTA 140 are the newer STIHL ALLPRO AP 300.0 P or the legacy STIHL AP 300 S, offering a practical balance of power and runtime for groundwork. These are separate battery models, not alternative names for the same battery.

Runtime depends on the battery used, soil conditions, auger size and drilling work. Battery and charger are sold separately.
