This is the push model, not self-propelled. Battery and charger are sold separately. It suits gardeners who want quiet cordless mowing with a durable steel deck and straightforward controls.

Battery and Charger

The RMA 348 uses the STIHL AK System. STIHL recommends the AK 30 S battery. If you also need a charger, see the AK 30 S battery and AL 101 charger starter pack. Both are sold separately from this skin-only mower. AS and ALLPRO/AP batteries are not compatible with this AK System mower.

Battery Coverage Guide

STIHL lists the following approximate lawn areas per charge for the RMA 348:

• AK 10: up to 105 m².
• AK 20: up to 210 m².
• AK 30 S: up to 275 m², the recommended battery.

Actual coverage varies with grass length, density and moisture, cutting height and mowing mode. A second battery can be carried in the spare compartment; do not treat the two compartments as automatic battery switching.
