The STIHL MSA 300 C-O battery chainsaw enables professionals in forestry and municipalities, horticulture, agriculture and tree maintenance to perform their various tasks particularly efficiently: for example felling and maintenance work, young stand maintenance and clearing tasks, as well as thinwood harvesting and pruning activities. In order to work as efficiently as possible, you are supported by three operating programs, Eco, felling and delimbing, which the MSA 300 C-O chainsaw configures for each particular application. In addition to the very good power-to-weight ratio, the simple operation and sophisticated ergonomics also contribute to a high level of working comfort.

Thanks to the powerful STIHL AP 500 S battery developed for this chainsaw, the full electric output of 3.5 kW is converted into a chain speed of up to 30 m/s. When teamed with the STIHL .325" RS Pro saw chain and the STIHL Light 04 guide bar, a high cutting performance is achieved with reduced weight. When working with the STIHL MSA 300 C-O, professionals are also impressed by the weatherproof and robust design. The STIHL anti-vibration system reduces vibrations, relieving strain on your muscles and joints. The oil sensor also continuously measures the amount of chain lubricant present, helping you to work with as little interruption as possible.

To protect the power electronics and the motor, the MSA 300 C-O is equipped with an easily accessible and easy-to-clean cooling air filter which filters dust and sawdust from the cooling air flow. The MSA 300 C-O is the first chainsaw from STIHL to feature an operation and notification cockpit that provides you with all the essential data and information about your saw.

The STIHL MSA 300 C-O battery chainsaw is also ready for networked working via STIHL connected, thanks to the Smart Connector 2 A.

All battery power tools within the STIHL AP system have been designed for regular professional use, even in adverse weather conditions. For this reason, they are certified as splashproof. The effectiveness of this is also verified through demanding internal tests. The splashwater test is aligned with the IPX4 standard, among others. For the STIHL MSA 300 C-O, the splash guard that has already been proven by internal testing has also been certified in accordance with the IPX4 protection class.

Note: STIHL recommends the chain lubricants STIHL SynthPlus and STIHL BioPlus. Operation is possible with other light chain lubricants produced on a vegetable or mineral oil base.

Note: You can only use the full range of functions of this battery chainsaw with a STIHL AP 500 S battery installed. If other STIHL batteries are used, we can neither guarantee that all functions will be available nor that the maximum possible sawing performance will be achieved.

Power Boost

Maximum Performance Increase. Thanks to intelligent electronics, STIHL power tools and batteries communicate with each other. If the device and battery are equipped with the POWER BOOST function, the battery always provides the maximum possible power for the respective application. In order to ensure optimum battery life, the device temporarily adjusts the power if it is used too intensively.

Constant Power

When using other brands of battery tools, the performance can sometimes decrease during work as the battery discharges. This isn't the case with STIHL battery-powered tools. Thanks to the intelligent electronics, your tool will work with consistently high power across the entire battery charge, until there is no energy left in the battery.

Cold Start Function

Reliable Starting In Cold Temperatures. Batteries only work at full power in ideal temperatures. If it is too cold, it usually takes time for the battery to warm up. Thanks to the cold start function, the tool is ready to start immediately, even at low temperatures down to -20°C, and offers almost the same output as at ideal temperatures.

Oil Sensor

For Control And Monitoring Of The Oil Supply. The LED display on the oil sensor informs you about the delivery of chain lubricant. If the LED is red, there is not enough chain oil reaching the chain. When the oil supply is sufficient, the LED is off.

Controlled-delivery Oil Pump

Oil Consumption Based On Need. The controlled-delivery oil pump reduces your chainsaw’s oil consumption by up to 50%. To use it, simply select the E position. For very long cutting attachments or very dry wood, an additional oil volume can be set by the user.

Non-woven Air Filter

For Effective Protection Of Power Electronics And Engine Parts. The non-woven air filter filters sawdust, fine dust and dirt from the cooling air flow. This keeps the heat sinks of the power electronics and the engine parts clean in the long term. The removed non-woven air filter can be easily and effectively cleaned with STIHL Varioclean and then reused. Cleaning should be carried out regularly – monthly in the event of heavy use.

Tool-free Fuel Cap For Oil Tanks

Quick And Easy To Use. Thanks to the bayonet closure, you can open and close the tool-free fuel cap in just a few simple steps.

Control Lever With Potentiometer Function

For Comfortable Handling. The control lever with potentiometer function allows you to control the speed of your battery chainsaw on an infinitely variable basis, and in this way easily control and adjust its performance as needed.

Important Status Information At A Glance. The large LED display provides feedback on the status of important chainsaw components.

Operating Modes

Adapted To Your Work. This chainsaw offers you 3 different operating modes. In “Eco” mode, the chainsaw operates with reduced power for maximum battery runtime. “Felling” mode uses the highest possible torque at reduced chain speed, to help you saw as evenly and powerfully as possible. “Delimbing” mode gives you a very high chain speed for precise cuts. Use the activation button to start your chainsaw in your preferred mode.

Performance Electronics With Derating Function

Effective Performance Monitoring. The derating function offers you two advantages in your work: first, this function protects your chainsaw against possible overheating by reducing the current. Additionally, it notifies you by means of a reduction in power if you only have very little battery power remaining. In both cases, the function allows you to finish cuts that have already started without the engine switching off.

IPX4 Certified

Splashwater Protection. The IPX protection classes define the moisture protection of electrical or electronic devices. The moisture protection test is defined in different stages. IPX4 certifies protection against splashwater from all sides. Battery-powered tools with this certification are therefore designed for daily use, even in rainy conditions.

Energy Management

Compatible With The Smart Connector 2A. You can mount a Smart Connector 2 A in the housing of the power tool at the dedicated position. Once installed, this connects to the control unit and transmits valuable power tool data to your smartphone or tablet that is within range.
