Designed for de-watering of construction sites, pits, storm water and basements capable of pumping down to very low levels.

The Claytech CLA-BLUESUB05-PS Puddle Sucker Pump is designed to drain water down to a minimum residual level of 1 mm to 2 mm from the floor when operated in manual mode.

Because it is a specialized puddle sucker (or residue dewatering pump), its flat-bottomed suction strainer is designed to sit directly on a surface and draw water from virtually flat ground.

Operational Constraints & Water Levels

• Mode Selection: The pump features an integrated round-style float switch for automatic operation. However, to reach the absolute lowest level (1–2 mm), you must lock or switch the pump into manual mode. Otherwise, the float switch will cut power to the pump at a much higher level to prevent dry running.
• Dry Running Warning: Submersible pumps rely on the surrounding water to cool the motor. Once the water drops to a few millimetres, the pump can no longer properly cool itself. Do not leave the pump running unattended in manual mode once it has sucked the floor dry, as it will overheat and rely on its internal thermal overload switch to shut down.
• Priming Depth: While the pump can drain down to 1–2 mm, it usually requires a slightly higher initial starting water level (typically around 10–20 mm) to submerge the impeller housing and prime itself before it can begin actively throwing water.
• Maximum Submergence: On the opposite end of the spectrum, if you are dropping it into a deep well or pit, its maximum submersion depth is 20 metres.
