Rotary vs cross-liner laser levels
A cross-liner laser level projects fixed horizontal and vertical lines and is ideal for interior fit-out and tiling work in individual rooms. A rotary laser level spins the beam to cover 360°, providing a level reference across an entire floor, slab or site — particularly valuable outdoors where a detector is used to pick up the spinning beam at distance. Rotary lasers are available in single-grade (level only) and dual-grade models that can tilt the plane for slope and drainage work. Self-levelling models automatically establish a level plane within their compensation range.
